Letter of the Week - Qq

What better way to cement our letter of the week than with baking and eating!  This week we looked at the letter Qq, so on Friday afternoon we made 'Question Biscuits'.  We cheated somewhat by using bought biscuits but we had heaps of fun making the icing and decorating them with M&M's shaped into a 'Question Mark'.  The children worked really well as a team mixing water and icing sugar to get a thick consistency and enough to ice 2 biscuits each.

Assembly Term 2 Week 5

Yay!  We did it!
I was so immensely proud of everyone during assembly this week.  They were all so excited about it during practice but when it came to a run through with our senior buddy class the nerves started to show!  Come Friday they were well versed in what they had to say and how it was going to go.  It certainly isn't easy to get up in front of the whole school and teachers but they all did a fantastic job.  Thanks to all the parents that were able to come along and support us - it meant a lot for the kids to see your friendly faces in the audience.

Pattern Making

This week in Mathematics we have been looking at patterns. Today we created our own Autumn patterns with leaves collected from around our school.  After gathering many different sizes, shapes and coloured leaves we thought about how many different pattern possibilities there are. Here are some photos of our journey.....

Kiwi Sport

What fun we had in Kiwi Sport this week.  Pete showed us lots of different gymnastic moves: pencil rolls, hedgehog rolls, teddy bear rolls and different stances.  We all got a turn up on stage to do a little sequence!

Visit from Constable Matt

This week in Room 2 we had Constable Matt come and talk to us about Keeping Ourselves Safe.  We discussed different types of touch: touch that we like, touch that hurts and touch that is confusing. There was lots of great examples given from the children. We look forward to having him back next week!
Lots of good ideas!

Our Buddy Class

We caught up with our buddy class for the first time today, Room 10 (YR4/5 class).  Over the next few weeks they will teach us new apps on our IPads. Today we learnt how to use the app Tellagami which was lots of fun.  We created characters and recorded ourselves talking about ways in which we care for others.    Thanks Room 10, we look forward to coming back next week.
