What better way to cement our letter of the week than with baking and eating! This week we looked at the letter Qq, so on Friday afternoon we made 'Question Biscuits'. We cheated somewhat by using bought biscuits but we had heaps of fun making the icing and decorating them with M&M's shaped into a 'Question Mark'. The children worked really well as a team mixing water and icing sugar to get a thick consistency and enough to ice 2 biscuits each.
I was so immensely proud of everyone during assembly this week. They were all so excited about it during practice but when it came to a run through with our senior buddy class the nerves started to show! Come Friday they were well versed in what they had to say and how it was going to go. It certainly isn't easy to get up in front of the whole school and teachers but they all did a fantastic job. Thanks to all the parents that were able to come along and support us - it meant a lot for the kids to see your friendly faces in the audience.
This week in Mathematics we have been looking at patterns. Today we created our own Autumn patterns with leaves collected from around our school. After gathering many different sizes, shapes and coloured leaves we thought about how many different pattern possibilities there are. Here are some photos of our journey.....
